Gilbert (Gil) Holcomb is a name known throughout the Central Wisconsin Veterans community.  He served 26 years in the Army, starting his career in the 82nd Airborne and retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer 2 in 1996.  He served his country and when he retired, he served our veterans.  He served on many boards throughout his life, American Legion Post 10, Founder of the Veterans Coalition of Central Wisconsin, Employer Support of Guard and Reserve (ESGR), 82nd Airborne Wisconsin Division, VFW Post 388, and Camp American Legion. In 2019 he became President of the Board at Patriot K9s of Wisconsin.

He was a crucial player in helping Patriot K9s grow to where we are today.  Unfortunately, Gil passed away on September 26, 2021, from medical complications.  Prior to his passing, he worked with Camp American Legion to allow Patriot K9s to spend a week at the camp to continue to assist our veterans with their service dogs.  2021 was our first week at camp and it was a great success. Patriot K9s will continue this new tradition the first full week in October which will be known as the Gil Holcomb Memorial Week.

We invite all our service dog teams to join us for a week of relaxation and training.
